While performing at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, Steven Patrick Morrissey, known professionally as Morrissey, ended the concert abruptly, which left fans angered and upset. He left the stage after performing only a couple of songs. They ended the show after 30 minutes!
Morrissey’s last released an album in March 2020 called ‘I Am Not A Dog on a Chain.’ The album ranked number one in Scotland and Poland and 3 in France. He first debuted in the early 1980s as the lead singer of the Smiths. According to the fans, the singer is like an enigma.
The frontman did not explain the reason for the concert ending abruptly. However, one of his band members apologized to the crowd, telling them that the show would not continue due to unforeseen circumstances. “Sorry, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the show will not go ahead. Very sorry. See you next time. Apologies.” he said.
Fans expressed their anger and curiosity on Twitter and wanted to figure out what led to the concert ending the way it did. One of the fans even speculated, saying that perhaps the weather outside was too cold as Morrissey commented on the weather being too cold earlier.
“So, #Morrissey just walked off the stage at @Greek_Theatre after 30 minutes. Apparently, he was too cold. Meanwhile, it’s in the 50s,” the fan’s tweet said. Some fans also claim that he was an hour late for the concert and left abruptly, without saying a word.
After the incident, Morrissey posted on Instagram. However, he did not apologize for what had happened. The post said, “Thank you for coming out last night, L.A. We love you and are grateful for your support. Please stand by for further announcements coming shortly.”
However, the message is no longer available and seems to have expired. Later the Greek Theatre also posted on its website saying the show had been postponed to a later date.
People who purchased tickets to the performance were advised to check the venue’s website for updates. The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles was the second stop of the singer’s tour in North America, which began in Ontario, California, on November 11th.
There is no information on when the canceled event will fit into his itinerary. However, this tour is scheduled to last until early December.
